Slow Food DC - Bid Away the Winter Blues Fundraiser

A message from a member of Rotary Club of Dupont Circle - Slow Food DC (www.slowfooddc.org), an organization that promotes and celebrates local, seasonal, and sustainable food sources; works to preserve the culinary traditions of the region’s ethnically and culturally diverse populations; and supports the right of all people to enjoy good, clean, fair food.

What: Bid Away the Winter Blues Fundraiser

Where: Bread for the City, 1525 7th St. NW, Washington, DC 20012

When: February 23, 6:30 - 8:30pm

Tickets: $55 at Eventbrite

We are partnering with another fantastic DC nonprofit, Bread for the City (www.breadforthecity.org), to host a fundraiser and silent auction next Thursday, February 23rd at their Northwest DC location. While I understand that $55 is a lot of money to pay for an evening out, we are determined to raise money in support of the amazing food access and medical programs that Bread for the City facilitates, in addition to our Snail of Approval program that recognizes local markets, eateries, and producers for excellence. The event will be catered by DC Central Kitchen’s Fresh Start Catering in addition to a wine tasting by Chat’s of Barracks Row, SE. The silent auction also promises to be exciting with items ranging from a Whole Hog BBQ to pasta making classes at Seasonal Pantry. Please consider joining me on the 23rd in support of Good, Clean, and Fair food. So far, we have a wonderful assortment of items to bid on.
